Hiii Guys,
A few questions I wanted to ask from the last few months.
I'd love to know if you have similar experiences or if you're currently doing contractual work from India & ofc the above two questions if you may. 🙂

I withdrew my payment using both local and SWIFT into my HDFC current account
For the local transfer method, I got the Indusland NOC after few days but I talked with the Bank Manager today and he was very much resisting to issuing FIRC.
For the swift transfer, someone above said, I should get Foreign Inward Remittance in HDFC but I didn't. It got directly deposited.
I used to get paid via Rippling for last 3 years and never had an issue. It used to come as foreign remittance in my HDFC and I would just mention SOFTEX reason code and get money+FIRC
So I am not worried on how would I get FIRC. I have not withdrawn payment for last 2 cycles because I wanted to make sure that the NOC method works.
But reading all above threads makes me feel worried.

As I was going through adding a SWIFT withdrawal method, I realised, I may have made a mistake while adding an account. e.g I think I said account type Personal instead of Business.
But when I choose Business, it asks about this -
Not sure, what its asking. Does deel need a letter from the Bank that this account belongs to a business under given name?

Hi Nilesh @nimahajan,
Thanks for being a member of the Deel Community and sharing your questions/thoughts in this thread. While I don't have direct experience regarding your specific question, I can definitely try to point you in the right direction and add a little more clarity to the NOC and FIRC process!
For your latter question on the "statement or confirmation letter from the institution": if a Contractor chooses "Business" bank account, the system will require FFC (For Further Credit) papers, or the confirmation that the company bank account is under the Contractors' user name.
Please note: we cannot allow contractors to withdrew to third party accounts, so you'll need to check if the account type is also business or not.
As for your first question, it sounds like you were already able to get the NOC. You'll just need to submit this NOC document to your bank, who should be able to provide you with the FIRCs. Hopefully some other members here are able to add any additional advice or their own personal experiences, too!
However, if you have additional questions on this process, I'm happy to help connect you with one of our Support experts who can help you navigate the different documents and processes more clearly.
Thanks so much and have a great rest of your week,
-Cassy

Like I said, the bank person showed a lot of resistance in issuing FIRC/BIRC.
I have raised a formal request and will see how long it takes.

Hi @nimahajan,
If you need any assistance from the Deel Support team on this, please let me know. I'm happy to help get a ticket started for you so that they can give you more specific guidance. I didn't see you create a ticket with them yet, so if I'm happy to help with that, or you can reach out to them 24/7 via this form.
Thanks so much,
-Cassy

Why don't you instruct your IndusInd bank to issue FIRC instead of NOC, since IndusInd is the one who is directly receiving the USD amount?
August 01, 2024 06:08 AM
@CassyL If we get FIRC from Indus land bank itself, the problem is solved.

Ok. I tried this also and this method also did not send funds are INW in my account. So I don't know if I will get FIRC by this.

Hi @nimahajan,
I had the same problem when I used SBI account. Even though I was using Swift transfer, money was landing in SBI as INR.
I then tried ICICI account and I got it credited to ICICI as USD and they did the conversion to INR and got FIRC without issue.
So please try ICICI or any other bank account and there are chances that you can get it working.
Thanks

Ok. I resolved my problem. For anyone who cares about FIRC, do below thing
When you add account for local transfer, add the account with currency as USD
For all my past tries, I was using INR. Then money was getting deposited directly into my account through some Chase bank account in India or via IndusInd bank.
Then adding my current account as SWIFT with USD as currency has worked with my HDFC account.

I did the error of adding SWIFT with INR and getting difficulty in getting FIRC.
Would appreciate your help.

hi @nimahajan this is so very helpful! I would also add USD as currency instead of INR while doing the SWIFT transfer. How did you get the FIRC after that?
March 21, 2024 05:28 AM
Hi,
when selecting SWIFT in the Deel app for ICICI bank, what currency do you select, USD or INR?
Also, how many dollars were deducted from the total amount when it reached IDFC Bank?
April 02, 2024 05:18 AM
Hi @Lovely , I did SWIFT transfer to my HDFC account and the money came via NEFT and the bank sending the money was not JP Morgan US branch but JP Morgan Mumbai branch. While adding the withdrawal method for SWIFT transfer, did you add the currency for USD instead of INR? I would love to have some clarity on this. Thank you!
April 02, 2024 10:08 AM
yes, set currency as USD. Then it will come as INW and then you will also get a FIRC on email automatically.
April 02, 2024 10:37 AM
Hi @AnneshaM Yes I selected the currency as USD.
April 30, 2024 10:14 AM
Hi @Lovely , what type bank account you have like savings or current and what exchange rate you are getting in ICICI bank for SWIFT USD payments?
Thanks

Hey, thanks a lot.
Did you received FIRC on email or physically collect from bank?
Can you also explain about charges/fees? I see deel charge from $5 to $10. Was there any other charges from icici bank?
It will be very very helpful if u explain with some scenario and calculations.

Did you try SWIFT through Deel and did it work? or did you do SWIFT directly?
May 04, 2024 05:01 AM
I didn't select the NOC option while choosing my withdrawal method. (I'm not sure if the option even existed last year.) Any way to fix that & get NOC for previous transactions? I really need those for FIRC.

Seems from this thread like Swift with USD is the best option to get an FIRC easily.
August 01, 2024 02:58 AM - edited August 01, 2024 03:01 AM
I also feel this thread likes Swift with USD is the best option to get an FIRC 'EASILY'. I feel like going into this direction.
But I am curious about any transactions, charges, hidden charges, exchange fees etc. It will be great if some one can help with example say person A received 1000$ in deel. Now going through Swift + USD route what final amount person A will receive in his local bank account.
Secondly,
If 1000$ gets credit in deel after how many days person A finally receives the amount.
