With a couple of months already underway in 2023, we’ve had plenty of time to test out different New Year resolutions to see what sticks. For some, those resolutions may already be a thing of the past, while for others, perhaps a new routine has been shaped forever.

No matter which camp you’re in, the start of March is a great time to look into your goals, and determine how you will achieve them all (for real, this time)!

1. Boost your productivity

We can’t really talk about success if we can’t measure how productive we are, and as remote workers, this can be a challenge. Remote work is usually not tracked as time-worked but is evaluated based on output. As long as quality work is being delivered, things are good.

So how do we ensure we are delivering the most efficient work?

  • Set clear expectations
  • Limit distractions
  • Make to-do lists
  • Optimize your home office
  • Find a schedule that works for you
  • Take frequent breaks
  • Embrace asynchronous communication
  • Maintain a good work-life balance

Learn more about tweaking and boosting your remote productivity in this post.

2. Keep an eye on the future

Resolutions are all about what we want to be like and what we want to do in the future, so it's not a bad idea to be informed about what the year's trends are shaping out to be, especially regarding remote work.

Do you know what Sukima is?

Have you been able to successfully bounce in your career?

Are you planning a workation or three?

If you have an answer to these questions, well done, you are most likely up to date with workplace trends. If not, don't worry; we have a post just about this for you to explore and dive into, with a selection of the most exciting workplace trends for 2023.

3. Be sure your goals are CLEAR

Yes, it’s an acronym!

Collaborative

Limited

Emotional

Appreciable

Refinable

You can read more about this goal-setting methodology here, but there are many others. You might even have your own personal approach you build yourself.

Whatever method you choose, make sure your goals are well-planned and structured, so they can move from a failed resolution from last year to next year’s story of success!

4. Keep it light!

Preparing for the coming months is about more than business and productivity, so leave some room among your goals for the fun and easy stuff.

Plan to learn a new skill, schedule some time to find and share the best memes, or simply set a reminder to sit up straight every now and then.
